Crews from Lowestoft and North Lowestoft fire stations were sent to the factory on Whapload Road after an automatic fire alarm was sounded at 5.09am.

A spokesman said: “Crews found a fire in one of the fryers and requested an additional fire engine - a further appliance was therefore mobilised from North Lowestoft.

“At 5.50am this fire was extinguished and a foam blanket was applied over the fryer. Crews are currently still in attendance.”
