A man accused of throwing acid in the face of a woman in her 20’s has appeared before a judge at Ipswich Crown Court.


Leon Thompson, 38, of Alma Road in Lowestoft is charged with throwing a corrosive liquid with intent to disfigure and causing grievous bodily harm.

The charge relates to an incident in London Road South, Pakefield at 8.20am on August 14 when a woman suffered serious facial injuries after allegedly having a corrosive liquid squirted in her face.

Thompson appeared at Ipswich Crown Court today (Tuesday) in front of Judge John Devaux and the case was adjourned until November 7 for a plea and directions hearing.

Thompson was remanded in custody.

The victim remains in hospital.
