Police in Lowestoft have arrested two people in connection with an attempted armed robbery.
The incident happened at the Co-op store at Westwood Avenue, Lowestoft, on Monday, May 27.
At approximately 6.05pm that day a man went into the store, approached a female member of staff behind the counter and demanded money from the till.
When told the till could not be opened he made a further demand and produced what appeared to be a pistol. The man was then confronted by two other members of staff and he fled empty handed.
No one was hurt in the incident although members of staff were left shaken by what happened.
Police arrested two people yesterday and questioned them at the Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.
A 23-year-old man from Norwich was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in an attempted robbery and a 21-year-old woman from Norwich was arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Both have been bailed to return to the Great Yarmouth PIC on October 22.
