Lowestoft: Victim is struck several times during attempted robbery in St Peters Street

A man has been attacked in Lowestoft during an attempted robbery.
The victim was in St Peters Street at about 8.20pm when he was approached by two men.
One of the men began a verbal altercation with him before punching him in the face and throwing his phone to the ground.
The victim was struck by the man several times who also demanded he hand over his silver ring, which he refused.
The man who hit the victim is described as white, aged 20 to 25, between 5ft 3ins and 5ft 5ins tall, with short blonde hair and wearing a black hoody and black trousers.
The second man is described as white, also aged 20 to 25, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 7ins tall, of stocky build, with blonde hair and wearing a cream coloured T-shirt and carrying a plastic bag.
During the incident the victim tried to get assistance from cars as they drove past and police are keen to speak to these witnesses.
