Cre8 Systems AS, which manufactures subsea and topside electro/hydraulic control systems for the oil and gas industry, recorded just over £10m in turnover last year – with £2m coming from its Waveney arm.

It comes as the two-year-old company recently celebrated winning New Venture of the Year at Rystad Energy Gullkronen awards in Oslo.

Andy Bird, who works as a project manager at the office at the Riverside Business Centre, said Cre8’s backlog of orders had already surpassed the £10m mark for this year, while the award had helped highlight the firm’s success over a short period of time.

He said: “We are delighted to have been recognised for all the hard work the Cre8 team has put in to make the company a success in such a relatively short time span.

“The high level of competence, the necessary diverse skills and an innovative and ‘can do’ approach which is underpinned by our customer-focused culture has been instrumental in achieving this award.

“We would especially like to say many thanks to our customers who, early on, recognised and embraced CRE8’s vision and goals and had the confidence to provide substantial commitment to allow CRE8’s business to flourish.”

He added: “We will continue to steadily grow our business and build on this success. There are many opportunities in the energy sector and we strive to work in collaborative relationships with our customers where our innovation and high levels of quality and service add significant value to any project.”
