Man appears in court charged with thirteen child sex offences

Toby Lees, 29 and of Garland Road in Colchester has appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.

Lees appeared in court today (Wednesday, March 14) after being charged with thirteen child sex offences.

He was charged with six counts of rape of a child under 13 and seven counts of sexual activity with a child under 17.

The charges relate to incidents which are alleged to have taken place between 2011 and 2018.

Lees was remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on April 11.

Police were contacted shortly after 4pm yesterday by members of the public who were concerned by a glider they saw in a nearby field.
