Meet the Lowestoft and Colchester women vying to be Britain’s Next Top Model

Two aspiring models who live less than 70 miles apart in East Anglia are among the 12 hopefuls in a TV reality show.

Britain’s Next Top Model, shown on Thursday evenings on the channel Lifetime, includes competitors from Lowestoft and Colchester.

Waitress Bianca Thomas, aged 21, hails from the Suffolk seaside town and lists her favourite model as fellow Brit Cara Delevigne.

Eleanor Sippings, aged 18, is following in the footsteps of her best friend and grandmother, herself a former beauty queen.

The pair appeared on screen in last night’s first episode of the show’s 11th series, or ‘cycle’, which kicked off with a star-studded launch event.

Judging the competitors are former contestant Abbey Clancy, model Paul Sculfor, fashion writer Hilary Alexander and celebrity photographer Nicky Johnston.

None of the contestants where eliminated in the first episode, with the series returning at 9pm next Thursday.

Other contestants include: 23-year-old Victoria Clay from Liverpool, who “runs in the same circles as the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio”; the show’s first transgender contestant, 22-year-old bar supervisor and trans rights campaigner Talulah-Eve Brown from Birmingham; 20-year-old psychology student and online gamer Chloe Lockley-Middleton from Huddersfield; and Simone Murphy, 22, from Edinburgh, who is the only Scottish contestant among the 12.
