One person has died after a serious road crash on the A11 in Mildenhall.

Police are currently at the scene of the two vehicle crash on the A11 at Barton Mills where a man died.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision just north of Fiveways on the A11 around 1.45am this morning, with a report that two vehicles had crashed and one car was on fire.

A male driver of one of the vehicles sadly died at the scene and a further man in the second vehicle was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds with minor injuries.

The cars involved were a BMW and a Toyota Corola.

A stretch of the A11 road, north of Fiveways at Barton Mills is currently closed and diversions are in place whilst repairs are carried out to the road surface and a collision investigation takes place.

Any witnesses to this collision are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Police on 101.

Also this morning a lorry shed its load of roughly 20 tonnes of paper at the Fiveways roundabout, resulting in a partial block there. This has since been cleared.
