Four fire appliances had to be called out after a major fire in Newmarket this morning.

Large parts of the ground floor at the two-storey property in Bill Rickaby Drive were engulfed in the fire, which happened at around 10am.

Two appliances from Newmarket, as well as a multistar and support pump from Cambridge, were called to the incident.

The fire was brought under control and the property was ventilated, before firefighters checked it had not spread to neighbouring properties.
