Police are investigating after lead was stolen from a church roof

THIEVES have stolen lead from a west Suffolk church’s roof.

Between 20 and 30ft of lead flashing from a flat roof at St Mary’s Church in Newmarket was taken between 6pm on Friday and 11.30am yesterday.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area or has information about the theft.

  • One puzzle about this. Given that christians tell us their god is omniscient and omnipotent, why isn't he protecting his own churches? Does this mean their losing their lead is "god's will"?
