A man was taken to hospital today with serious injuries after he fell from his horse and was then kicked in the head by the animal.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were sent to the scene in Six Mile Bottom, Newmarket, at about 7.10am today.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, suffered potentially serious head and facial injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s for further assessment and treatment.
