Three people have died in crashes during a bleak 24 hours on Norfolk’s roads.

Two pedestrians were killed in collisions on Saturday at Caister and Stockton and the tragedies followed the death of a man in a two-car crash at Stradsett on Friday night.

Norfolk and Suffolk roads policing department tweeted: “We are dealing with three tragedies over last 24 hours. We are investigating the causes and supporting families our thoughts are with all involved.”

In the latest crash, a male pedestrian died after being struck by a BMW car on the A146 in Stockton at about 6.20pm on Saturday.

Police and the ambulance service attended but the pedestrian died at the scene.

Earlier in the afternoon, a female pedestrian died after being hit by a single decker bus at Caister in Ormesby Road around 4pm.

Meanwhile, an 80-year-old man has died after a head-on crash on the A1122 at Stradsett.

The accident took place at about 8.20pm on Friday when two vehicles – a Honda Civic and an Audi A3 - were involved in the crash.

Police want to speak to anyone who believes they may have witnessed any of the crashes.

Witnesses are asked to contact the serious collision investigation team at Norfolk Constabulary on 101.
