It was a wet and dreary day when Gainsborough Sports Centre when it hosted its gala day in 1984.

But that didn’t matter - it was going to take more than a spot (or more) of rain to dampen the spirits. We are British, the show must go on!

One young lad left very happy after he bagged himself a EACA EG2000 Colour Genie computer on one of the stalls.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution of Suffolk also attended the event, at which a crowd of supporters proudly displayed the flag to help raise awareness of the charity.
