Organisers have hailed the success of the One sixth form production of The King And I, which was performed to 1,000 people over four nights.
The popular production was put on at the sixth form in Scrivener Drive, featuring 30 students from across a host of courses in the cast, alongside an orchestra of students for a live score and involvement from 12 Cliff Lane Primary School pupils.
Lois Hinsley, director of curriculum for media and performing arts, said: “I’d say that this was our most ambitious production to date – and it will go down in history as one of our best.
“The audience reaction was tremendous and I felt incredibly proud of everyone.
“They all came together to make this a roaring success.”
It follows on from successful shows such as We Will Rock You and Rent.
The sixth form’s next production will be a dance show on Wednesday, March 21, before the Spring Concert ton Thursday, April 26.
