He said he was delighted to have received the educational award on behalf of the college.

Marshall Drew, who studies one day a week at the college on the EDGE agricultural apprentice scheme, won a community and industry involvement award for his work in helping to promote agriculture as a career to others in the region.

Floristry learner Hannah Jarvis won first prize in the F3 Congratulations class, where entrants were required to create an arrangement based around a 60th anniversary theme. And horticulture student Harry Dredd picked up a silver gilt for a garden design he created with his employer, Andrew Thacker.

“It was a fantastic show and we are always delighted to play our part. We were thrilled to pick up so many awards,” said college spokesperson John Nice.

The college teamed up with a variety of other businesses on its main stand and was supported by BQP and the EDGE apprenticeship scheme.
