Parkrun enthusiast who has raced all over the world takes on Bury St Edmunds course
A Parkrun enthusiast who was raced in every country in the world which has the event took on the Bury St Edmunds course at the weekend.
Cass Castleton, 64, who hails from Sussex, has been involved with Parkrun for five and a half years as both a runner and volunteer.
He says he has only missed four or five Parkruns since he began and Bury St Edmunds on Saturday, November 11, marked his 275th event.
The Parkrun initiative has taken him all around the world, including Russia, Australia and America.
Cass has also completed an alphabet of Parkrun destinations once – and is five letters off competing it again without repeating any places.
The Parkrun tourist’s trip to Suffolk ended with him completing the Bury St Edmunds course in 37 minutes and nine seconds.
He said: “I love the togetherness of Parkrun, there’s no age divide, no class divide, we are all here to run and enjoy ourselves.”
