Temperatures will struggle to reach double figures in most places this weekend the Met Office has revealed.

There will be cold winds coming straight from the Arctic, these northerly winds will also carry a few showers with them.

The showers will be cold enough to fall as sleet and snow over some northern hills.

The majority will affect northern, western and eastern coasts. If you are inland you can expect a crisp sunny November weekend.

The cold northerly plunge will move its way southwards during Saturday, clearing the cloud but introducing Arctic air.

Saturday starts off gloomy and damp in most places but by the afternoon the cloud and rain is forecasted to be replaced with sun.

Sunday is set to be cold with northerly winds taking hold however you should still see some sunshine – with a generally dry forecast good news for those marking Remembrance Sunday.
