Pepsi, a black Labrador who lives with her owners in Ipswich, competed in the competition as part of National Pet Month 2010.

At only six months old, Pepsi’s mischievous photo entry sealed her the title as winner of the Suffolk’s Cutest Pet competition, which was organised by the Orwell Vet Group and Perfect Pet Care.

Entered into the competition by 14-year-old owner Mollie Gascoigne, the pup beat off competition from cats, dogs, rabbits and ferrets from across the county.

Miss Gascoigne said that she was delighted Pepsi had been selected. The pair won a year’s supply of worm and flea treatment, along with a selection of food and toys.

Charles Bagnall, vet and director at Orwell Vets and Perfect Petcare, said “It’s been fantastic to have such a huge response to our search and such a wide variety of pets’ photos sent in as well, we have had pets from guinea pigs and a lizard to puppies, cats and horses, some more cute than others, but all very special.

“It just shows that Suffolk is full of pet lovers and it made it very hard for the judges to choose the final winner.

“The competition was run as part of National Pet Month to help raise awareness of the importance of pets and responsible pet ownership.”
