Police in Lowestoft are attempting to reunite a lost musical instrument with its owner after a banjo was unusually found in a bush.
The baffling discovery was made when members of the public spotted the instrument, which is in pristine condition and in a case, in a hedge near Oulton Broad South railway station on Saturday, September 23.
The stringed instrument was plucked from the hedge and handed in to officers at Lowestoft Police Station.
A police spokeswoman said: “Officers have conducted local enquiries but, as there have been no reports of a stolen or lost banjo, would like to appeal to the public for help in hope someone will be able to identify the owner.
“If you are the genuine owner, you will be asked questions in order to confirm the instrument as yours.”
Anyone who has had a banjo stolen or believes the instrument may be theirs is asked to contact Suffolk police on 101.
