An Ipswich father-of-14 who stoked controversy last year when it was revealed he will receive a six-bedroom council house has said he “won’t be dictated to” over how many children he has.

To send a link to this page to a friend, you must be logged in.

In a documentary on benefits broadcast last night by Channel 5, Tim Fisk even said he would have another child just out of anger at his critics.

The Fisk family from Maidenhall were the subject of a petition after it was revealed Ipswich Borough Council was knocking through a wall to an unoccupied house next door to them, creating a six-bedroom home in Glamorgan Road.

They were one of three families to feature in the documentary Benefits Britain: Life on the Dole.

During the documentary Mr Fisk said: “It’s got nothing to do with anyone whether I can support my kids or not. If we need support that’s why we have a social service system surely.

“I ain’t going to be dictated to, nobody in their life is going to be dictated to and told how many kids you can have. That’s not right. It’s p****d me off so much with all the c**p people keep writing and making up, do you know what I think I’ll have another one.”

Earlier in the programme he said: “If I had my way, no, I wouldn’t want more, I’m getting a bit old now. If Mandy had her way I think Mandy would want another one.”

The couple also revealed that they were subjected to verbal abuse after their life on benefits became public knowledge, and he has shelled out on camera surveillance around his house, as well as personal cameras for his wife and children.

“What the hell? I have had threats saying they’re going to petrol bomb us and murder my family. I’m quite disgusted with it, to be honest.

“On the street we have had verbal abuse, people shouting out, we have had cars pull up shouting out… fingers stuck up at Mandy.”

Mr Fisk also complained about some of the effects of the construction work going on during the show.

“The noise is horrendous really, I would have thought they’d have moved us while they were doing the work. With the newborn baby it’s a bit much innit?

His wife added: “I am looking forward to it to be done but it’s just the c**p that you have to put up with while it’s being done.”

  • He is no more milking the system than big tax avoiding corporations like Amazon, Vodafone and Starbucks. This is a societal problem the kind that has always existed, but its easy to think yourself better than him, therefore pillory him. Its the governments fault that we are even discussing this and not making waves about the MASSIVE tax manipulation schemes that it allows.

  • Pregnant again more to take from the system with out TV payout I'm not against having children but to milk the system for all its worth is wrong even 16 hours a week work to show something people wouldn't critisize so much people struggle and all the kids look like there in poverty it's so sad to see as for people blaming the kids again this is wrong they didn't ask for any of the hate I feel for them

  • I think Mr Fisk is missing the point here. As a tax payer and a contributor to the benefits system that he is milking, I have every right to comment on his lifestyle and the number of children he and his partner have as I and most other working families are the ones who are directly paying for him and his clan. Perhaps if he grew a set and actually demonstrated a bit of pride and went out to work then he would not get quite the same amount of criticism.

  • Waspie's wife. I'd like to have seen how this couple would have fared with rent and have children back in the 70's. There was no housing benefit until 82. Family allowance was not given for first child. That the benefits system has allowed the emergence of this type of irresponsible family is a disgrace. Smoking over a baby, cola in bottles. If ever there was a need to restrict child benefit to 2, they are it. The council are encouraging this lifestyle by pandering to their deliberate choices of more and more babies. Shameful. Embarrassing to watch.

  • Can you imagine a world where we all lived by Mr Fisks morals? Fortunately they are in the very small minority, because if we all decided not to work, to sit at home, eat, smoke and have as many children as physically possible then the world would fall apart. There would be no benefits to be claimed as there would be no money paid into the 'pot' to claim from. Civilization would not exist in the way it presently and fortunately does. Do people who live this way have a bright future to look forward to? My guess would be not. They put very little into life and to their communities and only take. They have very little to offer their children, who will no doubt go on to claim benefits and repeat what their parents do. I think I will stick to my lifestyle as theirs may be annoying but most definitely not even the slightest bit tempting.

  • I don't wish to dictate how many offspring you produce BUT you need to behave like a man and support them .....not only financially but educationally by teaching them the basics .....and by that I don't mean living off the state. Otherwise......you should be treated like the animal you are behaving like (and apologises to all animals who mostly behave better than you and support their offspring) and be castrated as you apparently cannot control yourself.......your children should also be taken into care and fostered so they can see what real life is like for good hardworking people and grow up to be decent human beings which you are obviously not!

  • He certainly needs a high income aside from their festering brood, to pay for his somewhat stretched tattoos, the ciggies, the mobile phone, and a waistline like that certainly doesn't come cheap. This couple are parasites, breeding like rodents, and probably with a similar IQ.

  • Do they not understand that if the rest of us were not out working there would be no money in the 'pot' for them to live off. Why can't one of them work and the other look after the children. No-one has a right to benefits and everyone should contribute to the society which we all live in. At least those of us who do work can walk down the street with our heads held high knowing that what we've got we've got by hard work and hard graft. I've brought my family up to believe that if you want something you need to work for it and I'm proud to say that is just what they've done.

  • I sometimes wonder, why is there such a system as 'child benefit' at all? Surely, if you cannot afford to raise children, you do not have them? Just remember, what one person is given without working for, someone else is working for nothing.

  • Just one more of the Uk's little problem areas that so far no politician has the guts to make a lasting decision on. Rather like current immigration numbers which, because of conflicting religions more than anything will, in the future, cause lasting problems. I assume this blob doesn't have time away from his bedroom to work for a living - something must eventually be done to curtail this level of the species breeding if only to balance up the election results. Already the intelligent are outnumbered by the excessive population explosion amongst those further down the food chain. Fortunately, most don't have the will to vote which temporarily bails the rest of us out.

  • RJ - it's either a can of lager or a jumbo size can of Brut deodorant - either way - not good news.... And just think, if each of these children has the same number of children that will be 196 of them, then if each of those has 14 children we will be supporting 2744 little Fisks in just two generations, and in this day and age that could be a lot quicker than you think.

  • I feel sorry for the people who have worked all their lives only to be totally shafted by the benefit system when they needed genuine help. I know people who have had their benefit stopped for just one silly mistake. There are people who are suffering and at the same time still desperately trying to get a job. Then you see people like this just plainly screwing the system ......its a disgrace.

  • Its sickening, I hate it when people play the system as real hardworking people lose out and are made to look lazy. I have no issue with helping a family who are earning low wages and need the extra to make ends meet but this family are an utter joke. I'm actually quite worried for the children - smoking over a new born and putting sugary coke into their bottles - what are they thinking?!

  • I don't care how many kids they have, or what condition they are raised in sol long as I'm not paying for it. My Mother was one of 8, and slep three in a bed. They were poor but proud and my grandfather worked hard to feed his family. People moan about welfare reform, but its the people like this family that SHOULD be affected by it, but are not.

You should hear the way they scream at the kids, and you should see what he has built in his back garden NOT BAD FOR A MAN WITH A BAD BACK ON DLA..this is one hellish family to live near.. I do feel sorry for the kids they are sweet,, but what chance in hell have they got to be educated properly? because of the lack of time given to them... they are neglected.. as for older one being blind in one eye.. he can see too get all the bargains at asda daily .. and he will shout hello to you from the end of the road... so his eye sight can not be that bad. Not one of those poor kids can even speak properly... you would think with all the time on his hands...and no job to go to..o he could teach his children to speak,, and i guess the way they deal with mandy's depression is to have another baby.

  • They haven't the intelligence to realise what a bunch of lowlifes they are. It isn't the childrens fault but I would guess they will eventually continue the spiral of doom when they are old enough. Did I actually see them put some coca cola into a babys bottle or am I mistaken. Either way, smoking round a small baby like that is a disgrace.

  • They either don't understand, or probably don't care, that if every one indulged themselves as these people do then we would soon be living in a 3rd world country, in abject poverty. We only have rights and benefits because people have worked and fought for them and unless we all respect that and do what we can to support a system to help those in temporary difficulties then these gains will no longer be there for anybody.

  • You would need to earn £80k a year to receive a net of £53k! These people are getting that for not working a single hour it's disgusting. In the documentary it stated the works cost in the region of £60,000' however the evening star quoted £6,000 in January. I would expect the work to cost the higher amount so I put a FOI request to IBC and they stated the budget was £12.5k which included all their professional fees etc - it's a joke!

  • I've been in their house and i have met them all , it is the fault of the system we have these types of families .Listen to how their children talk publicly and see how well they have been brought up . I could not afford more than 2 children and had no more as i work . This family is using the system . If we allow this to continue how many children will there be from non working families , what does this hold for our countries future ? We allow EU members to come to the UK and work and we pay for Child Benefit etc to their children and families back in their native country , what else ! ROYG says help them get off benefits ! What job could support 14 children !

  • They have chosen to play the system and collect all the free money available to them by having loads of kids. They could be a bit more humble instead of demanding that all this help is their god given right which doesn't really enamour them to anybody. Their are lots of uneducated people like them in this country and it is pointless blaming them they need to be re-educated and this government needs to help them off benefits instead of throwing money at them. If it is anyones fault it is our politicians who need to start a massive transformation of the whole benefit system.
