A packed programmed of culinary demonstrations are set to stir up the senses at this year’s Suffolk Show.

Visitors will be able to grab some kitchen inspiration in the popular Cookery Theatre, sponsored by Southwold brewery Adnams and show organisers the Suffolk Agricultural Association, and get some expert tips and recipe ideas from some of the county’s top restaurant chefs.

Emma Crowhurst and Robert Mace will be hosting a busy two-day programme of demonstrations from 16 talented Suffolk chefs. Scott Taylor of Barcelona-inspired ICE Lunch Bar in Bury St Edmunds will be constructing a gamekeeper’s brunch, and James Barber from Aldeburgh’s The White Lion will demonstrate his homemade beef burgers followed by tarte tatin. Dean Horgan Dining and Hospitality will be teaming up with Mackenzie David Events for a celebration of Suffolk shellfish, and Chris Lee from the Bildeston Crown will be preparing a superb rabbit wellington.

Other chefs include Justin Kett (The Swan at Lavenham), Michael Bonaccorsi (Lucca Enoteca, Manningtree), Chris Lee (The Bildeston Crown), Mauli (The Turks Head, Hasketon), Julie Foster (forager), Tom Greening (The Dog and Duck, Woodbridge) and Jonny Nicholson (The Bell at Sax in Saxmundham and The Sail Loft in Southwold). Teen chef Bethany Foster will bge setting out a three-course meal.

The Cookery Theatre will also showcase a host of local food producers.East of England Co-Op’s Producer of the Year, Michael Coe from the Essex-based Great Tilkey Honey, will be sharing tips on how best to use honeys in a range of recipes.
