FIRE crews have extinguished a chimney fire in New House Lane, Poslingford, near Clare.

Crews from Clare and Wickhambrook were mobilised to the scene following a call at 11.02am.

They arrived to find the chimney well alight and used a thermal image camera, one hose reel, jet and small gear to put the fire out.

They were back at base by 1.24pm.

The Orwell Bridge is now expected to remain open on Thursday after the threat of high winds overnight eased.
