Rail: Delays for rail commuters as work takes place to fix points failure at station

Rail commuters are facing delays this evening because of a points failure at Witham.

Some lines have been blocked as a result of the incident and services running between London and Ipswich are being delayed as a result.

Among those services affected are the 5.38pm service from London Liverpool Street to Ipswich and the 5.50pm train from Liverpool Street to Norwich.

Work is currently taking place to fix the problem.

A Greater Anglia spokesman said: “We thank you for your patience and understanding whilst this problem is being fixed.”

  • Witham should be destroyed. 1 in 2 network problems on the entire regional network is at Witham. I am not sure if someone with an estranged sense of humour messes about round there to cause commuters misery or whether Witham is just the excuse for "other - none of the above".
