Around 800 people enjoyed a market town’s first ever music festival at the weekend.
Fourteen bands took to the stage as the crowds lapped up the music, and the warm summer sunshine – with rain only arriving in the final moments of headline act UK Beach Boys’ set.
As the band finished the downpour dispersed the crowd, which ran for cover and home.
Terry Barrow, events officer for Brook Farm Residents’ Association, which organised Saturday’s free Sax Music Fest on the Memorial Field in Saxmundham, said: “It was a fantastic day, absolutely wonderful. We had a diverse range of music and everyone really enjoyed it.”
One of the keys was to involve young people in the town. They took part in two months of workshops and performed at the event.
