Scaresville, a popular Halloween event, is on the look out for scary people to join their 2018 team.

The spooky night, which is returning for its twelfth year, needs people who are 18 and over and are able to commit to scaring for a minimum of three evenings.

The exhilarating event takes place at Kentwell Hall in Long Melford and will run from October 3 to November 3.

The adrenaline packed night is not for the faint hearted with 20 different scares lined up to give visitors a fright.

Over 20,000 thrill seekers were brave enough to attend Scaresville last year, and owners are expecting even more this year.

Patrick Phillips, the owner of Kentwell says “People ultimately resolve themselves into one of two groups - those who like to scare and those who like to be scared. Some find it fun to be scared but even greater fun to see their friends, relatives or workmates being scared.”

If you dare to scare you can apply by emailing or sign up via the website.

Rebekah Phillips, Scaresville director, said: “Some members of the Scream Team scare every evening, some come just for weekends or every Wednesday. “As long as you are enthusiastic, energetic and follow our guidelines, you are more than welcome to be part of the Scream Team.”

Scream Team members are also encouraged to get involved with designing and building the scares, with brainstorming sessions and build weekends before the event begins.

As well as scarers, roles within the Scream Team include technicians, builders, fixers, costume makers, make-up, entertainers, marshals, catering and admin staff.

Earlier this year, Scaresville bagged its own award and was recognised as Best in the UK at the industry’s SCARE awards.
