A teenage motorcyclist suffered serious head injuries after his bike came off the road in Shotley yesterday.

The 18-year-old rider was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge after the accident in The Street at around 10.45am.

He was driving a red Hongdou motorcycle at the time of the crash.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the accident or saw the vehicle beforehand.
