Crash in Folly Road, Clare as driver swerves to avoid deer

A vehicle crashed into a ditch in Suffolk today after the driver swerved to avoid a deer.
The single-vehicle collision happened in Folly Road, Clare around 7am.
The driver, a man believed to be in his 40s, had to be cut free from his vehicle by firefighters.
He was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene and taken to West Suffolk Hospital with back pains.
The road was closed while emergency services worked at the scene.
Three fire crews - one each from Clare, Haverhill and Wickhambrook – attended.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters cut the roof off the vehicle to help release the driver.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “East of England Ambulance Service Trust dispatched an ambulance to the scene and treated a man in his 40s who had swerved to avoid a deer and crashed into a ditch.
“The man was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for further care after expressing back pains.”
Police also attended.
The vehicle required recovery from the scene because of the extent of the damage.
The road was clear by 9.25am.
