School pupils have been in fine voice for an annual festival of young musicianship in Suffolk this week.

The six-day Celebration of Schools’ Music kicked off on Monday at Snape Maltings Concert Hall.

Organised by Aldeburgh Music and Suffolk County Council, the event brings together more than 1,500 pupils from 50 schools to present an eclectic variety of music.

This week’s programme has so far seen youngsters performing everything from traditional African standards to the songs of Barry Manilow

On Wednesday it was the turn of primary school pupils from St Matthew’s in Ipswich, Bramford, Ringshall and Ickworth, along with youngsters from Beyton Middle School, St Louis Catholic Middle School, in Bury St Edmunds, and

Northgate High School.

Tonight’s penultimate show includes seven more schools, with Saturday’s finale featuring more schools from Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Southwold.
