Originally from Stanway, Stevi shot to stardom on the 11th series of the television show where he came 6th and has since taken part in The X-Factor UK tour as well as appearing on multiple shows including Celebrity Big Brother in 2015.

He will be performing a 15-minute set and signing autographs before the ladies embark on their journey from the Weston Homes Community Stadium on May 28.

Stevi said: “I am always in Stanway, it’s my home and I’m proud to be from the area.

“Everyone in Colchester knows about the work of the hospice. It’s fantastic that Dermot [O’Leary, former X-Factor presenter] is its patron, and I’m proud to be asked to be a part of it all.

“I haven’t got any personal links to the hospice but it’s still so nice to be asked to get involved. The hospice does such a fantastic job caring for local people so it’s a real honour.

“I want to support the night and event, and I try and help out as much as I can but I’m just me. I’m really looking forward to joining in the fun and meeting some of the hospice’s amazing supporters.

“Life since The X-Factor has been amazing – I have been so busy and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities it has given me. It truly has changed my life.

“I’m working on an amazing project but can’t give anything away just yet, so watch this space.”

The sponsored night-time walk begins at 10.30pm and this year’s theme is neon glow.

Ladies aged from 11 upwards can walk either the traditional 7.5 mile route or a new 3 mile distance.

Fliss Strode, events manager at St Helena Hospice, said: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s Midnight Walk event and we know that Stevi’s performance will make it an even more memorable night for everyone.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to Stevi for agreeing to join us and sing for our ladies.”

Registration is now open, with the early bird discount rate ending on February 22 with final registration closing the day before the event.
