Fire crews from three Suffolk stations battled a blaze at the back of a property in Stonham Aspal.

The fire broke out at an address in Stowmarket Road just before 6.15pm.

Firefighters from Stowmarket and Needham Market were called to the scene. They arrived to find the rear of the property alight and called for assistance from Princes Street station, in Ipswich.

Using three hoses and a thermal imaging camera, they were able to bring the fire under control by 7.05pm.

Oliver Sheppard, 28, of Park Road in Clacton, was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on January 16 after pleading guilty there on January 8.

One man was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
