Series of acts of vandalism in Stowmarket result in several windows being smashed.

Incidents of criminal damage to both residential and commercial properties were reported in Stowmarket over the weekend.

Between 6.30pm on Saturday, May 3 and 9.30am on Monday, May 5 the rear window of a charity shop and a second floor rear window of another shop, both in Ipswich Street, were smashed.

In Violet Hill Road, between 8.45pm on Friday, May 2 and 3pm on Monday, May 5, a stone was thrown and smashed a window of a residential property. Damage was also caused to a wooden gate.

Additionally, in Temple Road, between midday on Tuesday, April 29 and 8.15am on Monday, May 5, two shed windows were smashed.

On Sunday, May 4, police arrested four teenagers on suspicion of criminal damage after a rock was thrown through a patio door at a property in Lockington Cresent.

Three 16-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy, all from the Stowmarket area, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, theft from a motor vehicle and vehicle interference.

They have all been released on police bail and are due to return to the police station on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25.
