Students from Stowmarket raised funds for a charity supporting the people of Syria with a recent charity bake sale.
Three Year 9 students from Stowmarket High School decided to raise the funds in aid of Hand in Hand for Syria.
The students involved, Ebony Pumfrett, Suhana Jalal and Hannah Corcoran, raised £92.43 in one lunchtime selling cakes they baked themselves.
Headteacher Dave Lee-Allan said: “I am so proud of the young ladies who have shown such compassion for people living a life so different to theirs. They have shown leadership, organisation, communication and of course culinary skills.”
The trio were awarded certificates from the school.
Hand in Hand for Syria is a UK charity set up soon after the start of Syria’s conflict in 2011 and was started by a group of British Syrians to be a humanitarian force inside the country.
