Man arrested in sex assault investigation

A man has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault in Stowmarket.

The assault took place at around 12pm on Tuesday, June 17.

A 20-year-old woman was walking along a footpath between Windermere Road and Curwen Road near to some garages when she was approached by a male who grabbed her and then sexually assaulted her.

This morning officers arrested a 21-year-old man at an address in Felixstowe on suspicion of attempted rape.

The man will be held in custody for questioning at the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
