A woman is still in a critical but stable condition after an accident on a roundabout just off the A14 at Stowmarket.

A 58-year-old woman was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with serious injuries following the collision at around 4.20pm on Wednesday.

The woman was a front seat passenger in an Alfa Romeo that was in collision with a black Lexus car. Both vehicles left the road and ended up on the grass in the middle of the roundabout.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene of the incident along with the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service and the road was closed while an initial investigation got under way. It was reopened at around 7.40pm.
