Pupils and staff at Priory School in Bury celebrate their 'Outstanding' Ofsted.

For the eighth time in a row, a Bury St Edmunds school has been granted an ‘outstanding’ accolade.

The residential facilities at Priory School Special Academy, in Mount Road, were inspected by Ofsted in December and the report was published this week.

Headteacher Lawrence Chapman said: “We are delighted with this report as it highlights all the great outcomes for students.

“This is especially important as this was a new framework of inspection that set the bar even higher making it more difficult to achieve the outstanding rating that we did.”

Residential facilities of special schools are inspected annually and this the eighth time in a row the school has been rated ‘outstanding’. The school’s last full inspection was also in November, 2014.
