A car wash at a Sudbury funeral directors helped raise money to send Suffolk Special Olympic athletes to this year’s summer games.
Employees at the East of England Co-op Funeral Services branch, in Cornard Road, volunteered their time to clean cars and vehicles in return for a donation.
The event helped contribute to £890 which was raised by East of England Funeral Services branches across the county to help send Suffolk Special Olympic athletes to the Great Britain National Summer Games in Sheffield in August.
Emily Houghton, East of England Co-op Funeral Services area manager, said: “For us, this was a chance to not only raise money for the upcoming national summer games but also to raise awareness.
“Thanks to the generous support from the community and fundraising from colleagues, we hope the money can make a real difference to these athletes and their families.”
The money will be donated to 22 athletes and five coaches from Special Olympics Suffolk.
