Firefighters spent around an hour last night extinguishing a blaze in a garden in Sudbury.

The fire had taken hold of “100%” of two large sheds, fence panels, hedgerow and surrounding undergrowth at the rear garden of a property in Queens Close at around 10.15pm.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service sent a crew from Sudbury but on arrival, at around 10.25pm, another appliance was called for.

Hose reels and a main jet were used to extinguish the fire which was under control by around 11.20pm.

Suffolk police were informed as the fire is believed to be deliberate.
