A 46-year-old woman has been arrested after another woman was stabbed several times in Sudbury.
Police were called just after 11.15pm last night to reports that a 43-year-old woman had arrived at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds with a number of stab wounds to her upper body.
She told officers she had been stabbed sometime earlier in the evening and police established the incident happened in Sudbury.
Three areas - two in Cavendish Way and one in Hoxter Way - are currently cordoned off as the investigation continues.
The victim is currently being assessed in hospital where she is due to undergo scans to determine the extent of her injuries.
The 46-year-old woman, from Sudbury, was arrested a short time later.
She remains in custody and will be interviewed by officers on suspicion of attempted murder.
