Suffolk: Liam Dyker, 23, spared jail after being caught with 700 indecent images of children on computer

A 23-year-old man who had 700 indecent images of children on his computer has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Liam Dyker, of St Aubyns Court, London Road South, Lowestoft, admitted 11 charges of making indecent images of a children and five of possessing indecent images of children. In addition to being given a 20 week prison sentence suspended for two years Dyker was ordered to do 150 hours unpaid work in the community.
He was also made the subject of an indefinite sexual offences prevention order and ordered to sign on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.
Robert Sadd, prosecuting at Ipswich Crown Court, said around 700 indecent images were found on computer equipment belonging to the defendant.
Around 500 were at level C,which is the lowest grade of child porn and 196 were at level B.
Mr Sadd said Dyker had no previous convictions.
Matthew Gowen for Dyker, said his client was bisexual and had been searching for lawful male pornography but understood there had been a risk of getting unlawful images.
He said the majority of the indecent images were at the lowest level.
