A man has pleaded guilty to creating more than 700 indecent images of children - the youngest believed to be just eight or nine years old.
John Waterson, 47, of Hazel Drive, Horringer, near Bury St Edmunds, appeared at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Monday (August 6) and pleaded guilty to making two category A images of children, 49 category B images and a total of 738 category C images of children.
Category A images are defined as being the most serious.
The court heard that the images were found by police on many different devices in Waterson’s possession, as he backed up one of his computers.
He has been made to sign the sex offenders’ register and will return to the court again in September, where it will be decided whether he is sentenced at a magistrates’ court or a crown court.
