How is Trinity Park holding up after all the rain earlier in the week?

The organisers have done a great job to nullify the effect of the torrential downpours that threatened to make Trinity Park resemble a marshland. Although it is a little muddy in places, it is difficult to tell there has been widespread rain.

Would you advise wearing wellies?

They’re not essential, if you’re mainly sticking to the paths. There are some muddy areas, so the more off the beaten track you get, the more you may need them. Some parts of the car park got muddier as the day went on.

What is the traffic like around the showground?

By 7.45am yesterday, just 15 minutes after the gates opened, traffic was already stretching back to Ipswich Hospital. Even more people are expected to head for Trinity Park today, so leave plenty of time for your journey.

Are there big crowds expected tomorrow for Prince Harry’s visit?

Yes. Organisers are anticipating a significant rise in visitor numbers.

Apart from Prince Harry, what else can we look forward to on Day Two?

There is the Shetland Pony Grand National, show jumping events and the parade of hounds. The Osborne Refrigerators Double Harness Scurry final promises to provide a frantic finish.

Can I buy tickets on the gate?

Yes. £25 for adults, £22 for senior citizens (60 plus), £10 for young adults (15-18yrs) and free entry for children (14 years and under). A car park tickets costs £5.

What time does it all get under way today?

At 7.30am again. The BSPA RIHS Ridden Skewbald & Piebald at The Ipswich Building Society Grand Ring starts at this time. One for the early birds.
