TWO regional TV newsreaders are hitting the headlines themselves – with the news that they are both pregnant.

Expectant mums BBC Look East presenter Susie Fowler-Watt and ITV Anglia newsreader Becky Jago are due to give birth within a fortnight of each other in the autumn.

Since discovering they were both pregnant, the pair have been comparing bump sizes and cravings.

Susie’s pregnancy was particularly special as her and husband Alex Dunlop, who also works for the BBC, had all but given up hope of having a sibling for seven-year-old daughter Lola.

She said: “The pregnancy was a very big surprise for us as Lola was born through IVF.

“We had four additional attempts at IVF but gave up a couple of years ago on having another child, and then would you believe it I got pregnant naturally at the age of 42.”

The couple found out the they are having a little boy due on September 20, much to Lola’s delight. Both Susie and Becky were excited to learn each other was pregnant.

“It was lovely to find out Becky is pregnant too,” Susie said. “There’s no rivalry between us personally and it’ll be great to have babies at the same time.”

Becky, 36, added: “Susie didn’t know I was pregnant and I knew she was so I e-mailed and congratulated her.

“We’ve been comparing bump sizes and cravings.”

Becky and husband Pablo, 43, are already parents to six-year-old twins Chester and Hugo, and are expecting their third child on October 6.

She said: “Most of the time I don’t even feel pregnant. It’s only when I look down and see my bump I remember.

“We have our 20-week scan next week but we’re going to keep the baby’s sex a surprise which is what we did with the boys too.”

The pair will be leaving TV screens in September.
