A vet with a perverted sex interest in animals has been banned from the profession.

Oliver Fraser Lown, had already been taken to court after being caught in Kesgrave, Ipswich, with “extreme” pornography involving people and animals.

But the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) has now struck him off after hearing that, in addition, to the porn offences for which he was given a conditional discharge, he also engaged in sexual activity himself with a horse and a dog and then boasted about it online.

The RCVS, whose findings say he never practised in the UK, say he admitted at a Yorkshire court seven charges of possessing the “grossly offensive” material at Kesgrave in September 2011.

However, when he came before the RCVS disciplinary panel in London, as well as this conviction, he was also accused of engaging between 1 April 2009 and 25 June 2009 in sexual activity with animals.

And, in the summer of 2011 he was said to have engaged in written communication via a computer messaging system in which he made reference to his own sexual activity with animals and/or his interest in the same.

Striking him off Professor Noreen Burrows, Chair of the Disciplinary Committee, said: “The committee has no doubt the conduct was of the utmost seriousness, the material found in his possession and his own conduct involved the abuse of animals and a total lack of respect for their welfare.”

The findings say that Lown was identified, partly by a green star shaped tattoo on his leg as the person in film clips “engaging in sexual activity with a horse in a stable setting and a dog in a house setting.”

Ordering that he should be struck off they continue : “The Committee has no doubt that the only way in which the welfare of animals can be safeguarded, public confidence maintained and proper standards of conduct upheld is by directing the Registrar to remove the Respondent’s name from the Register.”
