Operation Drawbridge saw officers and police dogs searching properties in Felixstowe, Ipswich, Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, Brandon, Mildenhall and Newmarket, where drugs and stolen goods were discovered. More stolen goods were also found in second hand outlets.

Detective Chief Inspector Morgan who oversees operations for the County Policing Command said: “Operation Drawbridge continues to proactively target those individuals who are responsible for burglary and associated crime.

“Whilst the number of house burglaries committed in Suffolk continues to fall balanced against previous years we are determined to continue to use innovative tactics to prevent further offences taking place.

“Wednesday’s activities concentrated on prevention, reduction and enforcement which have yielded some positive results.

“Further Operation Drawbridge days of action will continue throughout 2014 so those individuals who engage in this type of criminality should continually look over their shoulder – you will be arrested – you will be charged and the likelihood is that you will go to prison.”
