More rain is expected to spread across Suffolk today after yesterday’s storm.
Trains services were back to normal after a frustrating evening’s travel after a tree came down on the main Ipswich to London line between Ingatestone and Chelmsford.
Passengers were faced with long delays after services were suspended and officials had to put in place replacement buses.
Weatherquest said cloud and rain would spread in from the west through the day, turning persistent in the early afternoon.
South-westerly winds could reach 35mph. Temperatures are expected to be around 8C.
Highways teams had their work cut out last night to remove fallen trees on roads across Suffolk.
In Essex, fire crews attended 12 incidents in which trees or signs had fallen in the road or were in a precarious position.
Calls attended were in Harlow, Maldon, Rayleigh, Shoebury, Ingatestone, Ongar, Little Hallingbury, three in Epping, and two in Clacton.
