Firefighters have rescued one person from a bungalow in Risby, near Bury St Edmunds.
Two crews from Bury St Edmunds and one from Newmarket were called to South Street at about 2.40pm today following reports of a fire in a bungalow.
One hose reel was used to bring the blaze under control by 3.45pm. One person was rescued and left in the care of paramedics.
Meanwhile, the fire service is calling on people whose homes have been affected by power cuts to take care this evening following a number of incidents where people have suffered burn injuries.
A spokesman for the service said people are using alternative methods of cooking, heating and lighting which has caused the incidents.
The spokesman added: “We would urge people to take extra care during times when there is no electricity to their homes.”
