PEOPLE have been warned to wrap up warm with Siberian winds set to sweep across the region next week.
Although there is little chance of any significant snowfall over the coming days, experts have warned that a chill easterly wind will be arriving, driving temperatures down to around 2C in the day and as low as -5C overnight.
Forecaster Chris Bell from Norwich-based Weatherquest said: “There’s a big area of high pressure that sits over Russia most of the time - it’s also known as the Siberian High.
“It will move further west than it normally does and it means we get on the edge of it.
“(The chance of snow) is not very high for us, to be honest. It’s possible once we get into next week but at this point, from what we can see, which goes through most of next week, there isn’t a sign of snowfall across most of Suffolk. There might be the odd flurry.”
He said that the likelihood of significant snow was much stronger across western parts of the UK.

Suffolk: Wintry weather on the way. Friday, January 27, 2012. Really? Oh and just another thought, are there rather too many comas in the last but one paragraph?

The Met Office however, say that it is just as likely that weather from the west will continue to dominate. Another scare story to fill more page space it seems.

Thanks for the advice to "wrap up warm". I was planning on going out in shorts and a t-shirt, but you know what? I'm really glad I read this article.
