We want to hear about your New Year’s resolutions no matter how weird and wonderful they may be.

New Year’s resolutions have been around for centuries. The Romans began each year by making resolutions/promises to the god Janus.

Babylonians also made promises to their gods at the start of each year – that they would return borrowed objects and pay their debts.

Examples of popular resolutions include losing weight, stopping smoking, drinking less alcohol, trying to worry less, trying to reduce stress and trying to save money.

A study carried out by Richard Wiseman from the University of Bristol showed that 88% of people who set New Year’s resolutions fail.

Common reasons for people failing are setting unrealistic goals, forgetting the goal has been set, or setting too many resolutions.
