A lorry, car and a caravan have suffered tyre blowouts on the A14 within minutes of each other.

Officers were called to the scene at around 1.38pm.

The eastbound stretch of road near junction 50 (A1120 Stowupland) is partially blocked.

The lorry has now been removed from the road but the car and caravan remain at the scene while they wait for recovery teams to arrive.

There are no injuries but the vehicles have experienced varying degrees of damage.

A police spokesman said there may be material on the road which may be causing the blowouts.

“Officers on the scene are conducting a thorough search of the road to determine what is causing the tyre damage”, the spokesman added.
