Firefighters came to the rescue of a kitten trapped behind kitchen units at a home in Stowmarket.

A local crew were called to an address in Thurlow Court, off Bury Street, just after 11.30am.

They were soon able to free the kitten from its predicament, and were back at the station just after noon.

  • Surely when politicians are talking about cutting-back the fire service, calls like these are the first they should stop responding to. An utter waste of public money and firemen's time.

  • I do hope a bill will be sent to the residents as we tax payers should not pay for a crew to waste time doing this

  • What a waste of fire service time. Couldn't the owners have dismantled their own kitchen unit.... Whatever next.
